4:7 有一個撒馬利亞的婦人來打水。耶穌對她說：「請你給我水喝。」There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.
4:8 （那時門徒進城買食物去了。〉
(For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)
4:9 撒馬利亞的婦人對他說：「你既是猶太人，怎麼向我一個撒馬利亞婦人要水喝呢？」原來猶太人和撒馬利亞人沒有來往。
Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.
4:10 耶穌回答說：「你若知道　神的恩賜，和對你說『給我水喝』的是誰，你必早求他，他也必早給了你活水。」
Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
4:11 婦人說：「先生，沒有打水的器具，井又深，你從那裡得活水呢？
The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
4:12 我們的祖宗雅各將這井留給我們，他自己和兒子並牲畜也都喝這井裡的水，難道你比他還大嗎？」
Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?
4:13 耶穌回答說：凡喝這水的還要再渴；
Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
4:14 人若喝我所賜的水就永遠不渴。我所賜的水要在他裡頭成為泉源，直湧到永生。」
But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
4:15 婦人說：「先生，請把這水賜給我，叫我不渴，也不用來這麼遠打水。」
The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.
4:16 耶穌說：「你去叫你丈夫也到這裡來。」
Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.
4:17 婦人說：「我沒有丈夫。」耶穌說：「你說沒有丈夫是不錯的。
The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:
4:18 你已經有五個丈夫，你現在有的並不是你的丈夫。你這話是真的。」
For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.
4:19 婦人說：「先生，我看出你是先知。
The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
4:20 我們的祖宗在這山上禮拜，你們倒說，應當禮拜的地方是在耶路撒冷。」
Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
4:21 耶穌說：「婦人，你當信我。時候將到，你們拜父，也不在這山上，也不在耶路撒冷。
Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.
4:22 你們所拜的，你們不知道；我們所拜的，我們知道，因為救恩是從猶太人出來的。
Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
4:23 時候將到，如今就是了，那真正拜父的，要用心靈和誠實拜他，因為父要這樣的人拜他。
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
4:24 　神是個靈（或無個字），所以拜他的必須用心靈和誠實拜他。」
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
4:25 婦人說：「我知道彌賽亞（就是那稱為基督的）要來；他來了，必將一切的事都告訴我們。」
The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.
4:26 耶穌說：「這和你說話的就是他！」
Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he .

5:27 「你們聽見有話說：『不可姦淫。』

5:28 只是我告訴你們，凡看見婦女就動淫念的，這人心裡已經與她犯姦淫了。
But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
5:29 若是你的右眼叫你跌倒，就剜出來丟掉，寧可失去百體中的一體，不叫全身丟在地獄裡。
And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. offend...: or, do cause thee to offend
5:30 若是右手叫你跌倒，就砍下來丟掉，寧可失去百體中的一體，不叫全身下入地獄。」
And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
5:31 「又有話說：『人若休妻，就當給她休書。』
It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
5:32 只是我告訴你們，凡休妻的，若不是為淫亂的緣故，就是叫她作淫婦了；人若娶這被休的婦人，也是犯姦淫了。」But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
5:33 「你們又聽見有吩咐古人的話，說：『不可背誓，所起的誓總要向主謹守。』
Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
5:34 只是我告訴你們，甚麼誓都不可起。不可指著天起誓，因為天是　神的座位；
But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:
5:35 不可指著地起誓，因為地是他的腳凳；也不可指著耶路撒冷起誓，因為耶路撒冷是大君的京城；
Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
5:36 又不可指著你的頭起誓，因為你不能使一根頭髮變黑變白了。
Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
5:37 你們的話，是，就說是；不是，就說不是；若再多說，就是出於那惡者（或作：就是從惡裡出來的）。」
But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
5:38 「你們聽見有話說：『以眼還眼，以牙還牙。』
Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
5:39 只是我告訴你們，不要與惡人作對。有人打你的右臉，連左臉也轉過來由他打；
But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
5:40 有人想要告你，要拿你的裡衣，連外衣也由他拿去；And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.
5:41 有人強逼你走一里路，你就同他走二里；
And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
5:42 有求你的，就給他；有向你借貸的，不可推辭。」
Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
5:43 「你們聽見有話說：『當愛你的鄰舍，恨你的仇敵。』Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
5:44 只是我告訴你們，要愛你們的仇敵，為那逼迫你們的禱告。But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
5:45 這樣就可以作你們天父的兒子；因為他叫日頭照好人，也照歹人；降雨給義人，也給不義的人。
That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
5:46 你們若單愛那愛你們的人，有甚麼賞賜呢？就是稅吏不也是這樣行麼？
For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
5:47 你們若單請你弟兄的安，比人有甚麼長處呢？就是外邦人不也是這樣行麼？
And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others ? do not even the publicans so?
5:48 所以，你們要完全，像你們的天父完全一樣。」
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

諾瑞娜的家位於南佛羅里達州，1992年曾受安德魯颶風重創。當時，她收到保險理賠，修復工作也即刻開始。但是承包商竟然在錢用光後就離開了，留下一間既未完工又沒電力的房子。十五年來，諾瑞娜只靠著接在延長線上的小冰箱和幾盞燈度日。出人意料的是，就連她的鄰居都沒留意到她的窘境。後來市長得知此事，關心她的遭遇，馬上連絡電力工程承包商。結果在幾小時內，她家的電力就修復了。

當耶穌與撒馬利亞婦人在井邊相遇時（約翰福音4章），
祂關心她的生命，點醒她需要屬靈的力量來改變她的生命。透過建立共通的話題（第7節的水），
然後引發她信仰上的興趣和好奇心（9-14節），
祂沒有以斥責的口氣指出她所犯的罪（16-19節），
並把他們的對話聚焦在主要的議題上（21-24節），
然後直接告訴她──祂就是救世主彌賽亞（26節）。
結果，她和許多撒馬利亞人都相信了主 。

約翰福音 4 : 39~42 John 4 : 39~42

4:39 那城裡有好些撒馬利亞人信了耶穌，因為那婦人作見證說：「他將我素來所行的一切事都給我說出來了。」
And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.
4:40 於是撒馬利亞人來見耶穌，求他在他們那裡住下，他便在那裡住了兩天。
So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days.
4:41 因耶穌的話，信的人就更多了，
And many more believed because of his own word;
4:42 便對婦人說：「現在我們信，不是因為你的話，是我們親自聽見了，知道這真是救世主。」
And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.

讓我們也關心他人的生命，向他們介紹耶穌。祂是我們屬靈力量的唯一來源，能滿足我們最深切的渴慕。MW
