63:1 （大衛在猶大曠野的時候，作了這詩。）　神啊，你是我的　神，我要切切地尋求你，在乾旱疲乏無水之地，我渴想你；我的心切慕你。
A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; thirsty: Heb. weary where...: without water
63:2 我在聖所中曾如此瞻仰你，為要見你的能力和你的榮耀。
To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
63:3 因你的慈愛比生命更好，我的嘴唇要頌讚你。
Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.
63:4 我還活的時候要這樣稱頌你；我要奉你的名舉手。
Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.
63:5 我在床上記念你，在夜更的時候思想你；我的心就像飽足了骨髓肥油，我也要以歡樂的嘴唇讚美你。
My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips: marrow: Heb. fatness

When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.
63:7 因為你曾幫助我，我就在你翅膀的蔭下歡呼。
Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.
63:8 我心緊緊地跟隨你；你的右手扶持我。
My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.

新加坡有一家餐館推出一種快速自助餐：三十分鐘內隨意吃到飽，只須付半價。有位顧客在嘗試過後說：「我顧不了用餐禮儀，塞了滿嘴的食物，狼吞虎嚥，根本毫無形象可言……。後來，我一整天都因為胃灼熱，而吃不下任何東西！」

有時候，我們在靈修讀經時，把上帝的話語也當成了這種快速自助餐。我們迅速地塞了滿口，狼吞虎嚥，還不明白為什麼所學甚少。然而，和日常的食物一樣，屬靈的食物也需要咀嚼！

像我們這些人，當了多年的基督徒，對於已讀過許多遍的經文，會很快地讀過。然而，一旦這麼做，我們就錯失了上帝要向我們顯明的意思。當我們從一段經節當中學不到新的東西時，就說明了我們正把靈修當成了快速自助餐。
大衛的渴望是對的。

119:15 我要默想你的訓詞，看重你的道路。
I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.

他寫下：「我要默想你的訓詞，看重你的道路。」這就是對待上帝話語的態度，要花時間仔細默想。 願我們閱讀聖經時，不要像吃快速自助餐一般。惟有藉著默想上帝的話語，才能讓我們的靈命健壯成長。CPH

細細默想祢話語，深藏祢話在我心，動工心中漸轉變，從此與罪兩相離。
